The John Burroughs High School Auditorium is one of the largest theaters for show choir competitions anywhere in the country.

Professionally operated lighting and audio equipment for Burroughs Music Showcase include:

  • Shure SLX-D wireless handheld microphones
  • Audio-Technica Unipoint condenser microphones
  • a Yamaha M7CL 48 channel mixing console and 14 channel speaker system
  • a Martin M1 lighting console
  • ample conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures

Directly adjacent to the JBHS Auditorium is the JBHS Quad, where students and spectators can relax between performances and local vendors serve breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day.

Established in 1948 and named for 19th and 20th century essayist and naturalist John Burroughs, the seven-building campus was completely remodeled in 2002. Student enrollment is approximately 2600. Mr. Matthew Chambers is principal.

Notable alumni include Debbie Reynolds, Ron Howard and Rene Russo.

John Burroughs High School has been the setting for numerous film and television productions including The Wonder Years and Glee.
